Task Force Coordinators
Task force coordinators manage specific facets of Queers and Allies' programming needs, and are responsible for recruiting and working with interested members to support our efforts.
Fundraising Coordinator
The Fundraising Coordinator will work closely with the f
inancial director to assist in the fundraising we must do in order to maintain our university funding and our programs.
Campus Outreach Coordinator
The Campus Outreach Coordinator will manage Queers and Allies' relations with other student organizations and university departments, including LGBT student groups at the other colleges in the DC metropolitan area. They will work closely with the Communications Director and other members of the board to bring new people into the organization and find cosponsorship opportunities.
Social Events Coordinator
The Social Events Coordinator manages the support operations for our social events. They are responsible for arranging and supervising catering, chalking, poster and flyer distribution, and other relevant aspects to ensure successful programs.
Advocacy Coordinator
The Advocacy Coordinator will maintain contact with national and local LGBT-related advocacy organizations, and help communicate opportunities to become involved in political and grassroots activism with our members.
Subgroup Directors
Subgroup directors are responsible for focusing on the needs of specific constituencies within Queers and Allies' membership. They will establish a deputy director to be approved by the Executive Board, and will help run social, educational, and fundraising opportunities specific to their areas of focus.
Director of Queer Women's Advocacy
The Director of Queer Women’s Advocacy is in charge of our Queer Women’s Advocacy Committee, which works closely with Women's Initiative and the Women's Resource Center to cater to the needs and interests of lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer women. This person will be the main point of contact for organizing events in conjunction with Women's History Month (March).
Director of Transgender Advocacy
The Director of Transgender Advocacy is in charge of our Transgender Advocacy Project, which works to support transgender students and community members both on and off campus. This person should expect to work closely with the Advocacy Coordinator and local and national transgender advocacy organizations, and will be the main point of contact for organizing events in conjunction with our Transgender Advocacy Week (leading up to Trans Day of Remembrance, in late November).
The Director of Queer People of Color Initiatives is in charge of our Queer People of Color (QPOC) Caucus, which works closely with Multicultural Affairs and the cultural organizations on campus to cater to the needs and interests of LGBT people of color. This person will be the main point of contact for organizing events in conjunction with the Heritage Months sponsored by Multicultural Affairs.
Director of Ally Initiatives
The Director of Ally Initiatives is in charge of our Ally Caucus, which works to engage allies in meaningful ways to work towards LGBT equality.
